Make up your own mind.
1st February my property was broken into, through the safety gate and wooden front door using a crowbar.
I was not in the property at the time.
Rang Nedbank to inform them and to ask them to provide security guard and to secure the property – I was told that it was my responsibility to do so.
So I rang my security company and arranged a security guard until I returned home, and contacted my company fitter to secure the security gate and the front door at a total cost of R2600 incl. guard.
I was informed by Nedbank that I could do this and they would reimburse the amount.
Submitted the invoice from my company SKay and Associates – they said that this as a home made invoice unless I was the owner of the company, which they promptly refused to pay. I rang to say that I was the owner of the business, but they then still refused to pay because my company is not VAT registered.
I then rang the complaints dept, and they still refused to pay.
I then informed Nedbank that I intended to post my grievances on face book and on my business web page, www.homeinspectionservices.co.za , within the hour they had agreed to pay my invoice in full.
This took 23 days of phone calls and emails to Nedbank.
To add insult to injury they emailed my policy which states:
Sum insured by Nedbank to hire security guard – R 20,000.00!
Emergency repairs to property – R10,000!
I think the problem was that I hadn’t charged enough!!
I believe in giving people the right to respond, please contact Nedbank for their response 0860 337 111.
